Outside Food & Beverages
Due to applicable law, Groups may not bring alcoholic beverages into Canvas Hotel for Group events. The Group must obtain hotel management approval before bringing any food or non-alcoholic beverages from outside sources into the hotel event/meeting space. If approval is granted, the Group may be required to sign a hold harmless and indemnification agreement in the form currently in use at Canvas if food or beverage products not purchased by the hotel but served by the hotel staff are brought in for consumption by the Group attendees. Service fees will apply to any outside food or beverages served in the Canvas Hotel event space, regardless if hotel labour is required.
Gratuity & Service Charge
The combined gratuity and service charge that’s in effect on the day of the Group’s event will be added to the Group’s Master Account. Currently, the combined charge is equal to 18% of the food and beverage total plus any applicable HST.
Full Cancellation
You may cancel your agreement only by giving written notice to the hotel. No full cancellation damages will be owed by the Group for cancellation between the date of signing their agreement and 11 days in advance of the event. Due to products and services that must be purchased and scheduled in advance, cancellation notices received 10 days or less in advance of the event will incur a full cancellation damages fee equal to 100% of the original total anticipated revenue, or the total charges for the event (including labour, gratuities, service charges, rentals and applicable taxes) based on your final guarantee or contracted number of guests, whichever is higher, plus applicable taxes required by law.
